Mark Higgins, a spokesman for the cyclist, announced this morning that Armstrong will not be competing in this year’s Leadville Trail 100, ESPN reports. According to Higgins, Armstrong will miss the mountain bike race due to a latent hip injury, which resulted from a Tour de France crash. The spokesman also noted that Armstrong wanted to spend time with his children before they return to school this fall.
